6. Warranty and Registration

  1. Selected electrical products purchased through approved MHB channels include a standard 6-month warranty.

  2. Extended warranties (12 or 24 months total) may become valid only when:

    • the purchaser registers the product online using the official warranty form or QR code, and

    • the product serial number matches a verified MHB-supplied item.

  3. False or misleading warranty information may result in warranty rejection.

  4. Warranty approval remains subject to MHB’s full Warranty Terms & Conditions.

7. Personal and Commercial Use Declarations

When registering a product or submitting warranty details:

  1. “Personal Use” qualifies for a 24 months warranty..

  2. “Professional / Commercial Use” is limited to a maximum 12-month warranty.

  3. Users must provide truthful declarations; incorrect use claims may result in loss of warranty benefits.

8. Links to External Platforms

This website may include links to third-party sites, such as:

  • Warranty registration portals

  • mhbRewards App or dashboard

  • Partner product catalogues

  • Social media pages

  • Payment gateways

MHB is not responsible for the content, security, or accuracy of external websites. Use them at your own risk.

9. Data Protection and Privacy

  1. MHB complies with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

  2. We collect and process only the information required to provide services such as online queries, warranty registration, or account access.

  3. Data is stored securely and shared only with authorised personnel or service providers.

MODERN HAIR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES (Pty) Ltd (“MHB”, “mhb”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is collected and processed lawfully, transparently, and securely in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, store, process, and share personal information through the MHB Rewards App, related websites, and integrated systems (such as Financial Systems, CRM and the Auro Warranty System).

 1. Purpose of the Policy

This policy applies to all users of the MHB Rewards App, including salon partners, stylists, and other authorised participants in the MHB rewards and warranty programmes. Its purpose is to explain:

  • What personal information we collect;
  • How and why we process it;
  • How it is stored and protected;
  • Your rights under POPIA; and
  • Who to contact regarding your data.

 2. Information We Collect

We collect personal and business information necessary to manage sales, rewards, and warranty registrations. This may include:

2.1 User Information

  • Full name and contact details (email, phone number, address);
  • Business name (for salon partners);
  • MHB Partner or Customer ID;
  • User account login credentials.

2.2 Transaction and Sales Information

  • Product sales details (product name, serial number, sale date, and price);
  • Customer purchase and warranty registration data;
  • Commission and reward history.

2.3 Technical Data

  • Device type, IP address, and browser version when accessing the app;
  • Usage logs and activity timestamps for security and audit purposes.

 3. How We Collect Your Information

Information is collected in one or more of the following ways:

  • When you register or log into the mhbRewards App;
  • When you record a sale or submit data within the app;
  • When a customer registers a warranty linked to your sale;
  • When data is synchronised between the mhbRewards App and Odoo (Finance and CRM system) or the Auro Warranty System;
  • When you contact us for support, queries, or participation in campaigns.

 4. Purpose for Processing

Your personal information is collected and processed for the following legitimate business purposes:

  • To identify and verify users of the mhbRewards App;
  • To record and track product sales and commissions;
  • To activate and validate product warranties;
  • To manage partner relationships and reward programmes;
  • To comply with tax, audit, and record-keeping obligations;
  • To communicate with users about account activity, system updates, or rewards;
  • To improve app functionality, usability, and user experience.

MHB will not process your personal information for any purpose other than those stated above unless legally required or authorised by you.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

Processing is based on:

  • Your consent, provided when registering or accepting the app’s Terms & Conditions;
  • Contractual necessity, where processing is required to fulfil our agreement with you (e.g. to calculate commissions or process rewards); and
  • Legitimate interest, for business operations, fraud prevention, and system improvement.

6. Information Sharing

We do not sell or trade personal data. However, we may share information with:

  • Authorised MHB personnel (Finance, Sales, and IT departments) for verification and reward processing;
  • Service providers that host, maintain, or support the app and backend systems (e.g. Odoo Online, Applicable (Pty) Ltd);
  • Regulatory or legal authorities when required by law.

All third parties are bound by confidentiality and data-processing agreements ensuring compliance with POPIA.

7. Data Storage and Security

  • All data is stored securely in cloud-based environments (Odoo Online and MHB’s internal servers) protected by industry-standard encryption and access controls.
  • Access is role-based, meaning only authorised users can view or modify specific data.
  • Regular backups and security audits are performed to safeguard against loss, unauthorised access, or data breaches.
  • If a data breach occurs, affected users will be notified in accordance with POPIA Section 22.

8. Data Retention

Personal information is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, including:

  • Warranty and reward records: retained for 5 years after last transaction;
  • Financial records: retained as required by South African law;
  • User accounts: deleted or anonymised after deactivation or inactivity exceeding 24 months.

9. Cross-Border Data Transfers

The app may store or process data in secure data centres located outside South Africa (e.g. Odoo’s European servers). All transfers comply with POPIA Chapter 9 and ensure the foreign country has adequate data-protection standards.

10. Your Rights Under POPIA

As a data subject, you have the right to:

  1. Access the personal information MHB holds about you.
  2. Request correction or deletion of inaccurate or outdated information.
  3. Withdraw consent for processing (subject to legal or contractual obligations).
  4. Object to certain types of processing.
  5. Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator if you believe your rights have been infringed.

11. Cookies and Tracking

If the app or related websites use cookies or analytics tools, this will be solely to improve user experience, track performance, and enhance usability. No personal data is shared with external advertising platforms.

12. Children’s Information

The mhbRewards App is intended for business and professional use only. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors under 18.

13.    Updates to This Policy

MHB may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any material updates will be communicated via email or in-app notification. The latest version will always be available at here.

1.        Detailed Description of Goods and/or Services

Auro Online Store is an online retail division of Modern Hair & Beauty (Pty) Ltd, offering premium haircare, beauty, lifestyle, and wellness products. Auro operates as an authorised distributor and retail partner for professional brands.

2.        Delivery Policy

Subject to product availability and receipt of payment:

  • Orders are processed within 2–5 business days.
  • Delivery is confirmed via email/SMS with a courier tracking number.
  • Auro uses reputable third-party courier partners.
  • Delivery costs are displayed at checkout unless promotional offers apply.

3.        Return and Refund Policy

3.1   Product Availability

If a purchased product becomes unavailable, Auro will refund the customer in full within 30 days.

3.2   Order Cancellations

Cancellations before dispatch incur a 10% administration fee.

3.3   Dead on Arrival (DOA) / Faulty Goods

3.3.1          Customers must notify Auro within 7 days of delivery.

3.3.2          The original tax invoice must be provided.

3.3.3          Products must include original, undamaged packaging.

3.4   Inspection Outcome

Upon inspection:

3.4.1          A replacement will be offered (if in stock), OR

3.4.2          A refund/credit will be issued.

3.5   Liability is limited to repair, replacement, or credit in line with the CPA.

3.6   Non-DOA Returns

A 10% handling fee may apply for:

3.7   Repairs

Repair timelines are estimates and not binding.

Items not collected within 30 days after notification may be sold to recover costs.

3.8   Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for return courier fees, packaging, and insurance for returned goods.

Auro complies with PAIA, POPIA, and all applicable South African privacy laws.

We take all reasonable steps to protect personal information.

5.        Payment Options Accepted

Auro accepts the following secure online payment methods:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • Instant EFT

Payments are processed via:

  • PayFast
  • PayGate

Both are approved South African payment gateways.

6.        Card Acquiring and Security

Card transactions for payments made on aurosa.store are processed through:

  • Card details are never stored by Auro

Customer information stored by Auro / MHB is kept separately from card details.

Auro does not store or have access to customer card information.

Warranty Terms & Conditions


1. Warranty Coverage: 

This warranty is valid for two years for household use and one year for salon use, beginning on the date of purchase. It covers any defects in materials or workmanship. If your dryer malfunctions due to a manufacturing defect within the warranty period, Modern Hair & Beauty (MHB) will replace the dryer at no extra cost. 

2. Warranty Exclusions: 

MHB will not provide warranty services in the following cases: 

  • Normal Wear and Tear: Damage resulting from regular use of the dryer, including cosmetic issues such as scratches, discoloration, or general wear. 

  • Force Majeure: Damage caused by external factors beyond MHB’s control, such as natural disasters, accidents, or other uncontrollable events. 

  • Improper Usage: Damage caused by misuse or failure to follow the instructions in the User's Guide, Caution guidelines, or product care recommendations. 

  • No proof of purchase: Proof of purchase must be provided. 

  • Unauthorised Modifications: Any dryer that has been altered, repaired, or tampered with by unauthorised individuals, or without prior approval from MHB. 

  • Product was purchased through an unauthorised reseller. 

  • Liability for Electrical Surges: This warranty does not cover damage caused by power surges, lightning, or unstable voltage. Such issues are considered external and not a manufacturing defect. We strongly recommend using surge protection, as damage from these causes is not covered for repair, replacement, or refund. 

3. Warranty claims process: 

Please register your Auro No Rush Dryer online within 14 days of purchase (home use) or 7 days of purchase (salon/professional use), at the following link [Insert Link]. You will need to provide the following information: 

  • Full name 

  • Contact details 

  • Date of purchase 

  • Retailer or place of purchase 

  • A clear image of the original purchase receipt 

  • Indicate whether the dryer is for household or salon use 

  • Input serial number – located on the dryer, box & warranty card 

  • A clear image of the corner of the dryer box showing the serial number and unopened plastic wrap. (in the case of a purchase directly from a salon) 

Once registered, you will receive a unique warranty number for future reference. 

4. How to File a Warranty Claim: 

If you’ve registered your product online, simply contact MHB at [info@mhbsa.com] and include the following details: 

  • Your unique warranty number 

  • Full name and contact details 

  • A description of the fault 

  • A clear image of the defective product, highlighting any visible issues

6. Shipping Policy: 

Once your claim is received and approved, the faulty dryer must be returned to MHB along with all original accessories. The return address will be provided on the website, and you will be responsible for shipping costs. Within 72 hours of receiving the faulty product, MHB will confirm if the claim is validated and, if approved, will send you a replacement dryer.

Please note that any physical damage to the dryer will nullify the warranty.
